eBooks

The term eBooks basically means electronic books, the format for which, among manyothers, can be plain text, RTF or PDF. eBooks can also exists in elaborate formats with graphical transitions between pages mimicking the turning of pages of a paperback.

When storing publication for distribution and sharing as electronic books – or eBooks – the most important criteria, from an efficiency perspective is cross platform support. A single format that will open on Mac, Linux, Windows, Windows Mobile, Smartphones, Palm, Blackberry and Apple’s iTouch is ideal. PDF is supported on all of these platforms although the readers are not necessarily always free.
