Don’t believe for one second that adopting these platforms is plain sailing. Technical design and implementation are often the easy part.

The three main problems which exist for the implementation of systems, platforms and services for shaping an information hub are time, willingness and know-how. Not only does it take time to administer these platforms, but also time to develop know-how. A lack of willingness will also be excused by a lack of know-how or a lack of time. If an organization is to be successful in establishing and maintaining these systems adequate time needs to be factored into activity schedules not only for adopting these platforms, but also for training. Major objections need also to be addressed to develop and retain institutional willingness.
