Both Windows Media Server and Darwin Streaming Server support the streaming of live broadcast. Live broadcast can be used in two ways. A pre-recorded video or audio may be streamed on a schedule or a live event may be broadcast. In these two cases a connection has to be made to the broadcast at a specific time, very much like TV or traditional radio.
Broadcam Video server and Broadwave Audio server are two free products from NCH Software (http://www.nchsoftware.com) which when installed on a laptop or desktop connected to a DV Camera or conference room audio system can broadcast live meetings or events over a LAN or internet connection, firewall settings permitting.
